What is a banner?
This is the graphic that will represent your site. This graphic will
appear on other members sites and link back to yours.
Our banner has the following criteria:
1. It can be static or animated banner.
2. It must be in either GIF or JPG format.
3. It must be 400 pixels wide by 40 pixels high.
4. It can not be transparent.

How do I create a banner?
You can create your banner just as you would any other image for your
Web page. Use a graphic design program such as PhotoShop or Paint Shop
Pro to make your banner. Then save it as a GIF or JPG format.

I'm going to create my own banner. What are the dimensions of
the banner that I need to create?
You need to create a banner that is 400x40 pixels.
If you want to create an animated one, it has to be 400x40 pixels.
NO TRANSPARENCIES PLEASE. While a transparent GIF
might look great on your page, it's a good possibility that there's a
member's page somewhere where it doesn't.

My paint program does not show measurements in pixels, what are pixels in inches?
At a resolution of 72 dpi (dots per inch), a 400 x 40 pixel banner would
be 5.556 by .556 inches.

Is it okay if I create a JPEG or use some other graphic format instead?
We, different from the other banner exchange programs, accept your JPG
banner but other format will not be accepted! See above for more info
on banner specifications.

Does my banner need to include your Sonic Exchange logo?
No, we will automatically attach our Sonic Exchange logo to the left side of
your banner.

Unfortunately, while I can create a Web page, I do not have the
ability to create a banner file, what should I do?
A number of our members have offered to make banner GIFs for free.
Please browse these designers' portfolios before you decide to contact
any of them. DO NOT contact more than one person, as the creation of
the banners is a time consuming business for which the designers
involved receive no monetary compensation.

Wow! Someone will create a banner for me? Isn't that a lot of
extra work on his/her part?
Yes, so please only ask for a banner to be created if you don't know
how, are truly unable, or have been told by 80% of the people you meet
(including family members) that you create the worst banner ads in the
world.

I have waited a long time for the banner to be created by the banner maker, and he/she hasn't gotten back to me, what should I do?
If you have waited for a reasonable period of time, we suggest you
politely contact the banner maker and cancel your order and start to
look for another banner maker.
