Said Sonic. "How ‘bout me?" asked Bunnie. "You too Bunnie!" said Sally, "Step right up!" Bunnie stepped under the beam and Roter started the machine up. "Ready? said Roter. "YUP!" said Bunnie. The beam shot down on Bunnie, and she was normal! "YEAH!" she said jumping up on the air. "Glad your happy Bunnie!" said Sally. "Yeah." said Knuckles, "But I better go back to Floating Island." "OK." said Sonic, "C-yu!" "Bye guys!" said Knuckles. "Bye Knux." said Violet. Knuckles winked at her, grabbed the chaos emeralds and left. ______________________ ICE CAP! ---------------------------------------- "You know what I feel like?" Said Sonic to Tails and Peter in there hut. "What?" asked Tails and Peter. "SNOW BOARDING!" he said. "But I don’t know how." said Tails. "I’m not that good." said Peter. "Well." said Sonic, "I’ll have to teach ya then!" "COOL!" said Tails. "Nifty!" said Peter. Tails went with Sonic to tell everyone were he was going. "OK" said Sally, "C-yu!" "Bye Sally." said Sonic. They walked to the edge of great forest. "Hold tight guys!" said Sonic, "HERE WE GOOOO!" Sonic grabbed Tails and Peter by the hands and zoomed off. Two minutes and they were at Ice Cap. "Look at all the pretty snow." said Peter pointing to the sky. "Um, Peter." said Tails, "The snow is over here." He said pointing to the ground. Peter shook his head, "That was fun." Sonic handed Tails and Peter a snow board, grabbed them by the hand and zoomed half way up the hill. "Cool, aint it?!" he said, "I looooove snow boarding!" Sonic showed them how, and pretty soon, Peter and Tails were doing tricks! "WEE HAA!" yelled Sonic flying off a jump. "This was a good idea Sonic!" said Tails. "Yeah." piped in Peter. "I know." said Sonic with a grin. The three snow boarded till it was six’o clock. "Time to go guys." said Sonic. "AW MAN!" said Tails. "Oh fine." said Peter. "Maybe will come back some other time!" said Sonic. Sonic grabbed them by the hands again and they headed back for Knothole. _____________ Teiry ------------------------------- "Guess what!" said Sonic in the conference room. "What?" asked Sally." "Today I feel like going to the beach!" "HEY!" said Violet, "That sounds great!" "OK then." said Sally, "All in favor, say ‘I’. There was a chorus of ‘Is’ and it was decided to go. At the beach, Violet, Sally and Bunnie and were playing cards on a towel while Sonic gave Peter a surfing lesson. Roter was messing with the radio and Bookshire was building a sand castle with Tails and Sonia. All of a sudden Tails said he was bored. He wandered off by him self in the near by forest of bamboo. There was so much of it the Freedom Fighters called it ‘Bamboo Forest’. Tails walked along for quite a bit before he found a spring. He stepped up to it and heard a rustle in a bush. Tails got a little spooked. "Um." said Tails nervously, "You can come on out. I won’t hurt ya!" The rustling stopped for a second and out from the little bush popped a small female fox! "HI!" she said. "Uh." said Tails blankly, "Hi." "Gee, your shy!" said the fox, "My names Teiry. What’s your name." "Uh." said Tails. "Or don’t you have one?" she asked. "No, I have one." he replied. "Then what is it?" she asked impatiently. "Tails." he answered shortly. "Oh." she said, "So, what are you doing out here by your self?" "I’m with my friends, the Freedom Fighters, and I got bored." "Oooo!" she exclaimed, "Can I meet them?!" "Yeah." said Tails, "I guess." _____________ Tails’ romance! ---------------------------- Tails had introduced her to the Freedom Fighters. Teiry told them her name and her age. "Your the same age as Tails!" said Sonic. "Cool." she answered shortly. She did not seem interested in any one but Tails. "So how old are you?" she asked Tails in a dreamy way. Sonic rolled his eyes behind her back at Tails. Tails gave a little smirk and told her he was 9 1/2. Teiry wasted no time in telling Tails she liked him. On Wednesday (the day when the Freedom Fighters meet in the conference room) Teiry told him right in-front of everyone. Tails’ face turned red with embarrassment. He turned his head and gave her a weird face. "You have a LOT of guts!" said Violet! All the girls were talking with Teiry after the meeting, and all the boys were talking to Tails. "I feel sorry for ya big guy!" said Sonic shaking his head. "Oh, knock it off Sonic!" said Tails. "Yeah." said Roter, "Give him a break!" Tails smiled and said, "Yeah! You heard him!" Being the kind of a guy Sonic was, he decided against beating Roter and Tails up. "So you really have a crush on Tails?" asked Sonia. She had a we bit of disappointment in her usually cheerful tone. "You bet!" said Teiry, "I liked him from the start!" "That’s cool!" said Violet. "Yeah!" piped in Sally. Everyone went to bed. Violet and Sonia let Teiry sleep in there hut. _____________ It’s a big word! And that’s were I live! --------------------------------- "So were do you live?" asked Sonia. "Everywhere." she answered. "What’s that supposed to mean?" asked Violet. "Just what I said." she replied, "Everywhere!" "OK......" said Sonia. "I live wear ever I please." said Teiry, "Yesterday, I lived in that big bamboo forest." "That is so cool!" said Sonia. "Yeah!" piped in Violet. "Gee, I’m hungry!" said Teiry, "Do you guys have anything GOOD to eat?" "Yeah." said Sonia, "If you want chilly-dogs head over to Sonic’s place, acorns and stuff over at Sally’s. Or you could just stay here and have cereal." "I think I’ll stay here." she said with a smile. ___________________ New cat in town --------------------------------- Next week at in the conference room: "So." said Sally, "Got any more ideas Sonic?" "You know what?" said Sonic, "No, I don’t." "Oh." said Sally. "Does any one besides Sonic have a plan?" She took a glance around the room to see if anyone had a hand up. When she get to the end she saw a hand-- Teiry’s hand. "Yes?" asked Sally. "Lets go bungy jumping!" "WHAT?!" exclaimed Sally. "I’m just kidding!" said Teiry, "Can’t you take a joke? What I was going to say was, lets go to the park." "OK." said Sally, "Sounds good." Everyone agreed to go. __________ Naco ----------------------- They all played and had a picnic. Sonic, Tails and Teiry went off into the woods. They explored a bit and went back. On the way back to the park, Sonic saw a white tail poking out from a bush. "Hey guys, look, It’s White Wind." whispered Sonic to Tails and Teiry. They looked were Sonic was pointing and giggled as Sonic held his foot up ready to step on it. STOMP! Sonic stepped right on the white tail. To there surprise, a white cat with dark blue hair about the shade of Sonic, jumped out from behind the bush with his fur on end. "WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO THAT FOR!?" he exclaimed. "Uh." said Sonic nervously, "I thought you were someone ells. "Right." said the white cat. He walked of in another direction. "Not like it matters." he said, "Life don’t matter, so this don’t matter. Good bye." The three looked into space. "Um." said Tails, "That was weird." "No kidding." said Sonic. Teiry just looked dreamily off in the white cat’s direction. She sighed, "He’s sooo cute!" The next day Teiry insisted on going to the park again. So again they went. Sonic, Tails and Teiry, again went exploring. They looked were the white cat was last time, and like before, there was his tail. The three jumped behind the bush were the white cat was and he jumped in surprise again. This time he greeted them in a different way. He punched Tails and Teiry in the face and tried to hit Sonic but he ducked just in time. Tails and Teiry were lying on the ground, knocked out. "You hurt my friends, and now your gon’a PAY!" said Sonic. He crossed his arms in-front of his invisible supper emerald belt, that he just remembered he had, and jumped up and turned hyper! The bright flash made the cat’s coordination go off. He shook his head and punched Sonic. Sonic just stood there and watched the cat fly backwards. Sonic laughed at him. The cat snarled at Sonic. "Can we at least talk to ya? "I don’t want to be talked to!" said the cat angrily, "I want to be left alone! I don’t want friends and I don’t want company either! So get lost!" "You look awful skinny." said Sonic totally ignoring the cat, "Why don’t you come back to the park with us and have a picnic!" "If that will make you leave me alone after that, then fine." Sonic de-hyperized himself and punched the cat, no that hard though. "That’s for hurting my friends." he said helping up Tails and Teiry. "By the way." said Sonic, "What’s your name?" "Naco." he answered. Sonic introduced Naco to his friends. They all went back to the park and told the rest of the Freedom Fighters about Naco. They all liked him-- Sugar most of all. Sugar noted that he was kind of glum. "Why the long face?" she asked him with a cute smile. "Life sucks." he answered, "That’s why the long face." "Na ah!" said Sugar, "Don’t be so negative!" "Why not?" he asked, "I have a good reason." "No you don’t." Sugar argued back at him, "Your just being dumb!" "I don’t care about what you all think of me." he said in a drone way. "Come back to Knothole with us." said Sugar, "Then you’ll see what I mean." _______________ Naco in Knothole ---------------------------- When they got to Knothole, Sugar showed him around. He seemed pretty impressed, for the kind of a guy he was. That night, he slepped out side at the edge of Knothole. Meanwhile. Sugar looked out the window. She sighed and got up. She was not able to go to sleep. She started humming a song. She did not exactly know what it was but she was humming it. "God?" she said looking on to the stars, "Please help Naco. . . Help all of us." She felt better and went to sleep. The next day she went over to Sonic, Tails and Peter’s hut. She knocked on the door ‘till there was an answer. "Hi Shug!" said Sonic who opened the door for her. "Hi-yu Sonic." she said, "Can I talk to Tails?" "Yeah, I guess." he answered, "TAILS?! Door!" he yelled. Tails came running down the hall. "Who is it?" he asked. Sonic opened the door a little wider for Tails to see. "OH!" said Tails, "Hi Sugar!" "Come here." said Sugar, "I need to talk to you." "Um, OK." said Tails. Sugar led him to the river and sat on the big rock. "OK." said Tails, "What did you want me for?" "Well." she answered, "Could you put a song to your piano?" "Yeah." he said, "I guess." She started humming the song with out thinking. ___________ Strange Song ---------------------- Sugar and Tails had lots of fun that night with the song. Sugar pointed to a tone on the tone list. "How bout that one?" she asked. "If you say so!" said Tails with a sly grin. He switched the tone and played the sweet melody, but instead of the beautiful sound, A loud obnoxious sound came out of the key board. Sugar held her big sensitive ears tight. "STOP!" she yelled. Tails stopped and laughed. Sugar rubbed her ears trying to here Tails. "Sorry." said Sugar, "Can’t here ya. I have been badly damaged in the ear!" They both started laughing. Then Tails noted the time. "Guess we better go to bed." he said. "OK." said Sugar, "Thanks!" "No problem." said Tails. Sugar left and got on her computer. She opened her media player and took out her microphone. She hummed her song into it and it played it back in different ways. Sugar was not ready to give up on figuring out where the heck this song came from! She hopped in bed and closed her eyes. Then she had a dream: she was very young, about two to be exact, and she was in bed with her mom at the side. Her mother, Loona, sang her a sweet and haunting lullaby. It went on and on. She could imagined herself in a weird place with no floor, but yet she was still standing with out falling, it was all purple and blue. The song was echoing through-out the room. Sugar awoke and recognized the melody. "The song!" she exclaimed, "I wonder why I am dreaming about my mom? I know she is alive and I know were she lives. And she has dad with her, so she should be OK.... OH NO!" she said to herself, "Bad. I was wondering what old Buttnik was doing. . . It was too good to be true." She got out of bed and called the only one that would be awake at this hour, maybe, Sonic. She waited no more that half a ring when there was an answer on the phone. "Hello?" said the familiar voice. "Hey Sonic!" she said, "It’s Sugar!" "OH!" he said, "Hi-yu! Sup?" "I had a weird dream." she replied, "Can you come over?" "Sure Shug." he said, "Be there in a Sonic-second! BYE!" Sugar herd a click and then a "ZOOM" then finally a knock. She hung up the phone and opened the door and let him in. "So." he said, "What seems to be the problem?" "Well." she answered, "As I told you, I had a weird dream." Sugar started a long detailed description of her dream. As we all know, Sonic is NOT patient. He was almost asleep by the time she was done. "Hmmmm." he said, "That IS weird! Do you want to go down and see them?" he asked her. "Hmmm, OK." she answered. Sonic rushed over to his hut and left a quick, sloppy, barely readable note to Peter and Tails. hey guyz! Sonic here! i went with Sugar somewhere. be back in a jiffy! C-YU GUYz! -Sonic PS. I will take you guys snow boarding later this week! SSS (sorry so sloppy) "OK Shug!" said Sonic meeting Sugar out side, "Lets rock and role!" Sonic grabbed Sugar by the hand and started off. "So which way?" Sugar pointed out the way the entire time until they were there. They went flying across the ground of Great Forest. They left there and kept going. Finally they got there. Sonic slowed and they started walking. They turned the corner. "WERE IS IT?!" Sugar exclaimed. The big hidden village was gone! Sugar used to live with her mom dad and a few other family members in a big hidden village. "What are you talking about?" asked Sonic. Then Sugar went into a long detailed description of her life: "Well." she started, "It was a long time ago. Way before Robotnik took over. Me, my mom and dad and a bunch of other family members moved to this big village." Sugar went over to the little bit of rubble that was left and turned a peace of wood on her small white paw . "I learned very fast over the years. My mom always sang me that lullaby when I was young. I left my mom and dad at age 12. I made friends with you and the Freedom Fighters. Then I went back to my family. We then got news about Knothole. I came to save you and all. And now we are here." Sonic was listening contentedly. "That was interesting." "WE HAVE GOT to save my mom and dad, and the rest of my family!" said Sugar. "OK, OK!" said Sonic, "Take it easy! We will do back to Knothole and tell the rest of the Freedom Fighters." "OK." she replied. Sonic took her by the hand and sped off. ___________________ Sugar’s family and Teiry and Naco’s first mission ------------------------------------------ When Sugar and Sonic got back to Knothole, they told the rest of the Freedom Fighters the story-- or, Sugar did. "Lets go!" said Sally, "We have no time to loose!" "I bet I know who did it." said Naco. "You do?" asked Sugar. "Yeah." said Naco, "That fat guy with the bad hair." "Yeah." said Sugar, "Dr. RoBUTnik." "Oh." said Naco, "Is that his name?" "Yuppers!" Sugar replied. Everyone started laughing. "We will all go to Robutnik’s place and see if we can find them there." Said Sally, "Sonic?" "Yeeees?" he answered. "Go get Knuckles." "Naw poop." replied Sonic, "Be right back." He walked out the door and then ran at top speed over to Floating Island. Sonic decided to have some fun. He spotted Knuckles on a hammock with some juice and GRAPES. Sonic hid behind a near-by bush. He was very silent. He purposely made a tinny rustle. Knuckles jump to his feet. "Who’s there!?" said Knuckles, "Come out, or I’ll come get you!" "Hello!" said Sonic jumping out of the bush. "SONIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCC!" yelled Knuckles. (Back at Knothole) "Did you here something?" asked Sally. "No." answered Bunnie, "It was probably the wind." "DARN!" yelled Knuckles, "WHY DO YOU ALWAYS SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT?!" "Cause it’s fun." Sonic retorted. Knuckles gave a low growl. "Sally wanted me to get you." said Sonic, "So lets go." "OK." answered Knuckles simply. Knuckles hopped on a tree, jumped and then started gliding. Sonic revved up his legs and started off with Knuckles behind him. "OK guys." said Sally, "Now that were all here we can start the meeting." Knuckles growled in Sonic’s general direction. Teiry caught it. "Hey Knux." said Teiry, "What did he do to ya?" Sonic and Knuckles, both, gave her an annoyed look. She turned over to Sugar, who was sitting next to her, and asked: "What’s THERE problem?" "They don’t get along that well." answered Sugar. Sugar had a worried expression on her normally happy and cheerful face. "This meeting is for Sugar." said Sally, "Her family has been kidnapped. I am going to send groups of you all out to all Robutnik’s stations. Knuckles, Sonic, Tails and Teiry; you all can go together to the main station by Floating Island." Sonic, Tails and Knuckles groaned. Sally totally ignored them, "Here are your bombs and COMM. units. Sugar, Naco and Bunnie; you all go to the one by Carnival Night, OK? OK, here are your bombs and COMM. units. Violet, Sonia, White Wind and I; will go to the station near Launch Base. GO!" The Freedom Fighters left-- leaving Roter, Antoine and Bookshire at Knothole to take care of things. __________ Teiry, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles ------------------------- Of course, Teiry talked the entire way there. Then suddenly, Sonic could not take it any more. "WOULD YOU SHUT UP!?????" he yelled. They all stopped in there tracks. "You don’t like me Sonic?" "It’s not that, it’s that YOU WON’T SHUT UP!" "WELL LOOK AT YOU!" yelled Knuckles, "YOU’RE SITTING THERE YELLING!" "SHUT UP GOLDIE-LOCKS!" yelled Sonic. "YOU BOTH SHUT UP!" yelled Teiry. Soon, the three were in a big argument. Tails looked helplessly at the three fighting. Knuckles punched Sonic under the jaw. Teiry decided to stay out of it now. Tails and Teiry looked at each other helplessly. Tails thought of some thing to say. Meanwhile, Sonic turned hyper. "HEY!" yelled Knuckles, "THAT’S CHEATING!" "NA AH!" said Sonic. the two were back to arguing. "If we are going to do this mission together, can’t we work TOGETHER?" asked Tails. Sonic de-hyperized him self. "OK, little buddy." They walked along with Teiry and Tails in between. Knuckles and Sonic. They would not talk to each other. When they got there, Sonic told Tails to tell Knuckles what Sonic wanted to tell him. And Knuckles had Teiry tell Sonic what HE wanted to say to him. Sonic whispered something in Tails ear. "Sonic says ‘You suck’." Knuckles whispered something in Teiry’s ear. "Knuckles says, ‘Not as much you do’." ____________ Trouble ------------------------- Little did they know, there was eight SWAT bots following them and recording everything they said and did. When they got about 20 feet away from the station; The SWATs attacked. One knocked Sonic to the ground. "GET OFF’A ME!" Luckily, Sonic had enough room to spin dash out. The fight went on and on. At last they finished them, but to there surprise, a big huge Mega SWAT bot roused from the bushes behind Sonic. "WATCH OUT SONIC!" Yelled Tails and Teiry at the same time. But it was to late, Sonic got hit with some strange gun and Sonic fell to the ground like a rag. Tails ran to his best friend. Tails also got hit with a gun. None the same one though. He also fell to the ground, knocked-out. It was just Teiry and Knuckles. The were wide eyed. They looked at each other, horrified. "Bad." said Knuckles. "Come with me and get roboticized, or I’ll kill your friends." said the M-bot. Sonic get up weekly. "Never." he said. "SONIC!" said Knuckles, "Your all right!" "Not exactly." said Sonic. He some-how got to his feet. Robotnik’s voice came over the radio of the M-bot. "SURRENDER!" yelled Robotnik. "Never, Robuttnik!" said Sonic. "Never huh?" said Robotnik evil, "Maybe you’ll change your mind when you see your friends." "Huh?" said Sonic. Tails had just got up, and was listening. A screen showed up on the M-bot and it showed all the Freedom Fighters tied up in Robotnik’s jail. "We are in a BAAAAD spot." said Knuckles. Just then, The M-bot shot the laser at all of them-- all but Teiry. She ran for her life. About 100 feet away from that area. She ran into Naco. They slammed into each other. Teiry rubbed her head. The two started talking at once. "One at a time" said Teiry, "You go first." "ALL OF MY TEAM AND THE OTHERS ARE IN ROBUTTNIK’S PRISON!" said Naco. "And my team just got shot." Naco followed Teiry to the spot. They hid behind a pile of mettle. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were gone. "Oh no." said Teiry, "I have a plan. I will go back to Knothole and get Roter, Antoine and Bookshire." "I’ll stay here and keep watch." said Naco. Teiry then left. It was about 15 minutes till Teiry got back. They had knives and guns with lots of ammo. "OK guys!" said Teiry, "Listen up!" she handed everyone a knife and gun, "Naco." "Yes?" he answered. "You are going to get the keys and run in there and cut the rope. Me, Roter, Bookshire and Antoine will keep you under cover!" They got as close as they could to the building by walking silently. Then they ran inside with no problems. They had to be very sneaky to get to the dudgeon. It was no surprise when they saw the tons of SWATs garding the area. "Go." Teiry whispered loudly to Naco, "And remember, Sonic first, and hand him a knife." Teiry, Bookshire, Antoine and Roter all basted away at the SWATs. Naco ran around the commotion with accurate speed. He grabbed the keys that were on the wall about 20 feet from the cell. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were in a different cell than the rest of the Freedom Fighters. He snuck up to the cell. "NACO!" said Tails. "Whew." said knuckles, "I thought we were done for." "Save the thanks for later, shut up n’ sit still." They did as told. He cut Sonic loose first and handed him the knife. "Go free the others." said Naco. He handed Sonic the key ring. Sonic flew across the ground and up to the other cell. He also freed anyone besides the Freedom Fighters that were in the jail. Two of them were of cats! He unlocked the door of the Freedom Fighter’s cell and cut them all loose with out stopping. At the speed he was going, the Freedom Fighters could not make out what it was, but they could figure. He grabbed them all one by one and took them out side. "Hey Sugar." said Sonic, "I think I saw your family!" "YA DID?!" she exclaimed. Sonic raced back into the building. When he got to the cell that held Sugar’s family captive, they all sat staring into space. "Hey mama!" said one of the little kittens, "It’s the fast blue thingy again!" This time when he went to the cell, he stopped. "Howdy!" he said. Then he grabbed them all one by one and took them outside. Last but not leased, Sonic got Sugar’s parents. "MOTHER!" yelled Sugar running to Loona, Sugar’s mom. "Who’s this guy here?" asked Sugar’s dad, Skratcher, pointing to Sonic. "Mom, dad; I’d like you both to meet: Sonic and the Freedom Fighters!" "So THESE are the dudes you’ve been telling us about?" asked Loona. "Yeppers!" said Sugar. All of the Freedom Fighters had SOME kind of injury when they got back. All but Naco and Teiry. "So Teiry." said Sally, "Did Roter instructed you all to do that?" "Noooop." she answered, "I did." "Your kidding!" said Sally. "Noooop." said Naco, "She aint." Sally gave her a thumbs up and smiled.
